| Just thought I'd make a small continuation to my Identity Crisis post. So far, the upcoming miniseries Infinite Crisis will be a 7 issue series, though nothing of what the story is specifically about is yet known. The numbering is significant because between the issues of #6 and #7, there will be an event called, "One Year Later". Every DC comic will jump forward one year to show what the DC Universe will be like one year after the events of Infinite Crisis. It should be noted that this means one year in the DC Universe timeline, not one year as in what the story of the comic book will be 12 issues from now. Furthermore, there will be a 52 issue comic book called "52" which will show what happened during the year bypassed in the comics. Each issue of 52 will come out each week for one year. On a personal note, this is an INSANE amount of comic books to collect, and this is omitting the tie-in stories in the regular comics like JLA, JSA, Outsiders, Teen Titans, Superman, and Wonder Woman. And considering that DC takes at least half a year to get its trade paperback collections out, I could be waiting at least two ears from now to finally get all of this collected since I'm only planning to get the TPBs. The Identity Crisis collection is FINALLY coming out in October. Too bad DC isn't like Marvel, who get their TPBs out 2 seconds after the story is finished. Of course, Marvel has serious shipping problems with their regular comics though. New Avengers is only on its 5th issue when it should be on its 8th. Let's see what potential collected stories I will need to buy to get at least the basic Crisis story: Identity Crisis Villains United The Rann/Thanagar War The OMAC Project Day of Vengeance JLA: Crisis of Conscience Infinite Crisis 52 (which wont end until Feburary 2007 and could go up to 3 or 4 volumes) Edit 7/27: Ooh, I found a ginormous list of Crisis crossover comics. As of this edit that list ends around OMAC Project #3, although as of today's date OMAC Project #4 just came out. | ||||||||||||
